A Unique Start

Godfrey Marine’s history begins in earnest in 1958 at the World’s Fair in Chicago. Their Sanpan® pontoon was the very first boat in the class to be made solely from aluminum! That design and construction breakthrough also featured upholstered seating, pressure-treated decks, convertible canvas canopies, and enclosed outboard motor compartments. Right off the bat, Godfrey pontoons were pushing the boundaries of what a pontoon could do and be. 

Not long after they acquired AquaPatio®, and both the Sanpan and AquaPatio lines remain popular to this day.
