Budget 

Because pontoons are such versatile boat models, they tend to come in an enormous range of prices. While this is great for ensuring buyers find a pontoon that meets both their specific preferences and their budget, it’s very easy to fall into debt if you don’t shop carefully. To ensure you’re not shopping beyond your means, be sure to have a firm budget set for your purchase before you step foot onto the dealership lot. If you plan to finance your new pontoon rather than pay out of pocket, remember to set a budget for your monthly payments as well. 

Model Size

Pontoons can range in size quite a bit, so you’ll need to be careful when shopping for your new model. Choose too small and you’ll find yourself limited in both deck space and seating options. Too large and you’ll end up paying extra for unnecessary space. As a general rule, we recommend buyers who plan to travel with 5 or fewer passengers to purchase a model 20 feet or less in length. For those of you looking to travel with 10 or more passengers at a time, we recommend browsing through boats at least 24 feet in length.
